The role: Regional Data Center Facilities Manager, Asia Pacific
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. Facilities Technicians on this team operate, monitor and support all facilities activity at Google's data centers. You take ownership of the operation and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems, HVAC, UPS, generators, electrical distribution and control and monitoring Systems. You're at the forefront of best-in-class environmental practices. You bring the ideas of our Data Center Engineers to life and develop creative approaches to reducing operational costs while improving efficiencies. You ensure that problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services and preventive maintenance, and that safety measures are being performed. In emergency situations or abnormal conditions, you respond to data center performance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time from failures.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the ongoing flawless operation of the data centers in several locations throughout the region.
* Ensure that facilities problems are identified and repaired.
* Ensure that contractors are delivering quality services and that internal customer demands are being met.
* Work to find creative ways to keep operational costs to a minimum.
* Work with Team Members team members to improve efficiency and implement new data center strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Related Third Level Qualification in Engineering. In lieu of qualification, 10 years relevant work experience
* Experience as a Facilities Manager or Datacenter Portfolio Manager for large datacenters and properties in excess of 50,000 square feet of raised floor) in East Asia or South East Asia
Preferred Qualifications:
* Excellent technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center or critical infrastructure environments- including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, air handling units and CRAC units.
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
* A willingness to provide on call support in case of emergencies or other off hours facility related issues.
